International Process Sales Conference 2017

SWR and PCME together in the Process Market

This year for the first time, the International Process Sales Conference of SWR and PCME took place.
From October 29th to November 1st, 2017, distributors from all over the world have met at the Møller Centre in Cambridge/UK. At this fantastic place SWR and PCME showed the synergies between the sister companies within the process market:

Same customers – different products and applications.

Beside those opportunities SWR and PCME informed about product innovations and successful applications.
All distributors were excited and became very motivated for the future.

PART OF THE ENVIRONNEMENT S.A GROUP
Since October 2016, SWR engineering Messtechnik GmbH is part of the international group Environnement S.A.
The Environnement S.A Group, headquartered in Poissy (France), is leading the field in continuous environmental pollution analyzers. Since its foundation in 1978, the company has been growing continuously. Boosted by going public in 2006. The focus remains on the core competences of gas analysis and dust measurement.
With the acquisition of SWR into the broadly positioned measurement technology segment of ESA’s company group, the access to the process market will be significantly strengthened. For our customers, this new structure will generate noticeable benefits. In addition to being even more customer-oriented by means of further sales and service offices, the frequency of new products and innovations that SWR will bring out of its well-filled development pipeline will increase.
With our sister company PCME Ltd, based in Cambridge (UK), close cooperation is already taking place in the areas of distribution and development. This already offers an extended program with approved sensors according to TA-Luft, QAL1 and BImSchV for particle and dust emission measurement.

Continuous dust monitoring with AirSafe
Avoidance of Ex areas Application A producer of dry mortar needs dry sand and trass for the production process. Both materials are dried in a hot gas heater at a temperature of 500 °C before they are admixed. The hot gas heater uses brown coal dust as combustion material. The brown coal dust, which is stored in a silo, is transported via a rotary valve in free fall to a distribution plate. From there it is blown by an airstream into the drying furnace. The rotary valve and the distribution plate are located in the silo housing. Extreme dust formation, caused by a leakage, can cause an Ex zone in this area. Therefore the plant operator looks for a prompt possibility to detect dust formation. The plant is shut down when a safety threshold is reached, which prevents the development of an explosive atmosphere. Goodbye baffle plate! Continuous measurement of great mass flows without old-fashioned, mechanical techniques
Goodbye baffle plate!
Continuous measurement of great mass flows without old-fashioned, mechanical techniques Baffle plates for continuous measurement of bulk flow rates are used in many plants, where solids are handled in the processes. This mechanical technique offers many advantages compared to partial weighing of bulk solids because no more material has to be taken out of the process. Nevertheless, baffle plates entail some disadvantages, especially during the installation. Those disadvantages are eliminated with the MaxxFlow HTC by SWR engineering as a system for the solid flow metering. In principle, MaxxFlow HTC can be used in all areas, where large volumes of bulk material have to be measured after mechanical conveyor elements, such as spiral conveyors, rotary conveyors or similar mechanical discharge plants. An upper limit for the throughput does not exist. Any material volume can be measured – regardless of hourly performance amounts of 50, 180, 290 t/h or more. The previous disadvantages like installation height or necessary modification measures for mechanical
