Victam International 2019

Fair

The world`s largest and foremost international event for animal feed ingredients & processing technology, biomass pelleting systems, flour milling and grain processing.

Cologne is now the home of three co-located exhibitions - FIAAP International, VICTAM International & GRAPAS International. The 2015 event, which happens to be the 50th Anniversary of the Victam Exhibition, will once again combine the FIAAP, VICTAM & GRAPAS exhibitions, and their respective conferences under one roof at Koelnmesse in Cologne.

FIAAP exhibitors will be displaying ingredients and additives that are so necessary for the successful formulation of animal feed, aquafeed, dry petfood and speciality feeds. The VICTAM exhibits will cover the very latest technology and system used in the manufacture and processing of these animal feeds, aquafeed, dry petfood and speciality feeds. Also on display will be a large number of international manufacturers of biomass pelleting plants.

A large number of companies will be exhibiting the essential ancillary equipment that is so necessary for the smooth operation of a feed mill, flour mill or a rice mill. The latter two will be profiled in the GRAPAS trade show as this exhibition covers grain processing, storage & transportation, flour and rice milling technology, as well as, pasta, breakfast cereal and extruded snack production. A large number of stands with ancillary equipment will also be on display.

New Hamex® fully automatic hammer mill
reduces product cost price thanks to clever re-design Product cost price even lower due favourable hammer mill price, fewer operations when changing screens and more efficient milling. Much progress has been made on many fronts with the new Hamex® Hamer Mill. For instance, the method used to produce the machine has been automated and modernised even more, which has considerably reduced its total price. In addition, various ergonomic aspects of the machine have been amended, improving user friendliness and speed of screen changes. The screen can now be slid out of the machine sideways meaning that wear parts are quickly reachable and can be easily changed. In addition, the Hamex® Hammer Mill has large inspection hatches that offer fast and easy access for inspection, cleaning and maintenance of the relevant components. Many advantages that together make an essential contribution to further reducing the eventual product cost price. Higher production capacity The Hamex® Hammer Mill is also fitted with a stone trap and

Maximized separation quality with minimized process costs GSort – The key to perfect separation
Maximized separation quality with minimized process costs
GSort – The key to perfect separation With the GSort Allgaier Process Technology is presenting a completely redesigned separation table for efficient separation of dry and non-sticky moist materials according to their density. Thanks to its new design, the GSort can also be used for sorting tasks that could previously only be solved using water-based processes, e.g. setting machines. In contrast to previous separation tables, the GSort can solve a wider range of tasks not only in the recycling industry - especially with regard to heavy products such as slags or shredded scrap mixtures between one and 80 mm in size. It can also be used in mining. There the GSort can supplement or completely replace conventional water-based processes such as wet setting tables for product separation. The resource water is therefore no longer required. The process costs in following steps are minimized and the overall invest is reduced. In particular, the costs for the supply and discharge of water as well as for the treatment

Vortex Multi-Port Diverter Assists with Pasta Production
In 2017, a pasta company consulted Vortex to consider improvements to their flour transfer The Process Various grades of flour are pneumatically conveyed and diverted from a main supply line into eight silos. Each of the eight silos feed separate production lines, with each line producing a different type of pasta. The client used a manual hose switching station to route materials from the main supply line into each silo individually. The manual hose switching station presented many disadvantages, including: Labor-intensive – Because it was a manual switching process, an operator had to physically decouple, reposition and recouple the flexible hose. Further complicating this process, the operator had to climb and shuffle across a narrow catwalk each time the hose was repositioned. Safety – A ratcheting tool was used to move the hose through a horizontal plane. Because the tool is used as a hand-operated winch, tension between moving parts can cause the mechanisms to fail – which is an operator safety concern. Profitability – As

Roller Gates Assist in the Production of Horse Feed
Roller Gates Assist in the Production of Horse Feed
Last spring, Vortex consulted with a horse feed producer to assist with a process need. At this facility, the client is producing forage cubes. Upstream in the process, bales of hay are broken down and minor ingredients are added before the raw materials are formed into cubes (approximate size: 75 – 100 mm square). Once formed, the cubes are transferred into cloth silos. Below each silo, a common belt conveyor transfers forage cubes to a packaging line, where they are loaded into bulk bags. Vortex was tasked with identifying a solution for discharging forage cubes out of the cloth silos, down onto the belt conveyor. Primarily, the client is concerned with forage cube quality and thus, the cubes cannot be damaged upon gate closure. Upon careful analysis of the application, the Vortex Roller Gate was recommended. The client sourced this small-batch order as part of the “proofing” stage of its new production process. Now installed in their application,
